Explain your interpretation of the complexity of social class, poverty, and discrimination in terms of the interconnections among race, ethnicity, age, gender, and schooling. How are they related? How are they unrelated? APA Format 3-5 Paragraphs References needed NO PLAGIARISM
Make a list of 5 common questions that are being asked today by non-believers. Based on the discussion in the course materials for this week, formulate a question response to each. In your reply posts to peers, provide a question response that is different from the one supplied by the original author
Read “What shall we do with the Canaanites?” by Knut Holter
attached in files
Read “Return the National Parks to the Tribes” by Daniel Treuer
Write an integrative paper describing the different policies identified by Holter that are articulated in the Old Testament about how to treat the ongoing presence of the Canaanites in the land. How have/ how might each of these policies find parallels in relation to US government’s policies toward Native American presence in the land of North America as discussed in the article by Treuer?
As you think through your response here are some additional questions to consider:
Do you think that certain Old Testament policies regarding how Israel was supposed to treat the Canaanites in the land have influenced the behavior of European settlers or the policy of the US government toward Native Americans? Why or why not?
Which OT policies toward the Canaanites are similar to practices and policies adopted by the US government and/or by European settlers? Give evidence.
How might a discussion of these different Old Testament policies about what to do with the Canaanites presence in the land in the Old Testament contribute to a more robust discussion in American society regarding Treuer’s policy suggestion for returning the national parks to Native American peoples? How might such a discussion contribute or not contribute to inclusive human flourishing?

You will write a research paper on a topic in the field of child counseling. For this Research Paper: Proposal Assignment, you will include the topic you have chosen and an explanation of the topic/research intent.

Writing prompt: Sheehan raises the question of medical ethics. What issues within medicine do you consider controversial? (page 419)
Religion is not developed or practiced in a vacuum. It influences and is influenced by almost everything else found in culture—food, sexual practice and taboos, rites of passage (birth, marriage, death), entertainment (music, movies, art, literature, sports), healing arts, and understandings of the natural world.
For this project, the student will choose a topic of interest and show the impact of religion(s). Some broad examples might be: Christian expression in NASCAR, the reflection of Shinto in a piece of Japanese anime (choose one movie/book/game), Buddhism and Kung Fu (many martial arts practices are based in religion), Jewish history and belief in regard to tattoo body art. The possibilities are endless. The subject area will need to be precise and manageable. Do not write about Christianity in American politics, for instance, but rather about the Christian voice in the debate on gay marriage in the United States.
For topic ideas, read through the final pages of each chapter in your book. Contemporary challenges and cultural influences will often be discussed on these pages. Ask friends, other teachers, coaches, or family members for ideas. Consider religious topics in the news or google information as a way to find a topic. (Googled information cannot, however, be used in the paper.)
Sources may not be “googled” or come from sources such as Wikipedia or Ask.com, though these sites may help you find keywords for exploring the databases.
Personal interviews cannot be used in this paper. Do not share your opinion or personal experiences.
Sources must be relevant to the paper topic. If you are exploring Confucianism in Mulan, you need sources that point out Confucius teachings in that movie. As this is a research paper, do not take the expert role and draw your own conclusions, for instance citing instances of Confucian belief in the movie. Instead, research and write about what other experts have said on this topic.
Use careful MLA style and formatting. Avoid plagiarism by citing ALL sources in the text of the manuscriipt. This includes quotations, certainly, but also a body of information you learned from a specific source and which you have put in your own words. At the end of that body of information (a paragraph, for instance), simply cite your source in parentheses. Avoid long quotations, or an abundance of direct quotes. It is best to put information in your own words, and then cite the source.
This is a research paper. Do not take a side or try to make an argument. Present the information found in expert source material. With controversial topics, balance the paper by reflecting arguments from all sides. Do not include personal experience, opinion, or pronouns. This is a third-person paper.
When writing the paper, do not recount the storyline of a movie/book/television show.
Papers that do not meet the required minimum criteria will be rejected.
Meets minimum word requirement
Meets assignment criteria
Proper in-text citations (no plagiarism)
This paper must be an original piece of work produced by the student. Do not copy or borrow material from previous student papers or the internet. When you submit your paper, it will automatically go through Turnitin.com. If this shows your paper has been plagiarized in any way, the paper will be rejected and given an “F.” Do not submit your paper to the Turnitin application before submitting it to Canvas. This will give you a 100% plagiarized score and I will reject the paper.

why it is interesting to you, and, what the image calls or connects to within you.
Is there a connection to these sacred images/places for some, most, all humans? If so, what do you think that is?
Welcome to Week 1.
Welcome to Theology of John Wesley! In the weeks ahead you will learn about one of the most significant figures in the history of Western Civilization. Many historians believe that it was the Methodist Revival, led by Wesley, that spared the blood shed of the French Revolution from taking place in England.
His story is a very human one. He wanted assurance that he was pleasing to God and did everything he knew to do to attain it. Finally, he came to the end of himself and God broke into his experience and transformed his heart. Following this experience he developed a doctrine that is among the most hopeful in Christian theology. It is the idea that we can live lives free of the bondage of sin…that we can become the men and women God intends for us to be. The failures of the past no longer need dominate us, and our heart can be turned outward toward God and others.
As we go on this journey search your heart and reflect on your own path to Jesus. See if there is something that John Wesley discovered that you may have been searching for your whole life. You won’t regret it.
To prepare for this week’s learning, read/watch the items below:
• Read Chapters 1 and 2 in the Collins text
• Read John Wesley’s sermon Circumcision of the Heart
1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes, 2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours: 3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 11 My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.” 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?
1 Corinthians 1:1-3, 10-13 New International Version
A Reason For Hope
The Corinthian church was plagued with immorality and dissension…yet Paul refers to them as “sanctified.” One of the things to keep in mind is that God’s sanctifying grace (grace that sets us apart for God’s use) begins a work in our hearts subsequent to salvation, but it takes time to do its work in our lives.
Practically speaking, humans are a web of complexities and contradictions. Some we are aware of…and some we are not. It takes time for us to work with the Holy Spirit to untangle these things.
The good news is that there is nothing that is broken within us that the Holy Spirit cannot fix. We will always have distinctive personalities that sometimes come with “quirks.” However, the brokenness within you that keeps you from being the man/woman, husband/wife, father/mother, son/daughter that you feel in your heart that you were created to be can be healed and made new.
This is what makes John Wesley’s teaching on entire sanctification one of the most hopeful doctrines in Christian theology. It’s a hope worth pursuing. What is something that you would like to see Jesus do in your own heart as we study together in this class?
